Because the future is now... and you can always in this "now" do something to make things better. "Hopeless" is when you misunderstand this truth and buy into the illusion that there's nothing you can do about tomorrow... or the next minute in fact.... This is helplessness at its worst...
At a persistent or acute level, a person suffering from such state or sense of helplessness could just be suffering from depression... something for which treatment would be very advisable.

How can you possibly be hopeless? Life is full of endless possibilities. How you view your life and the world all depends on your perspective. Have you ever danced in the rain one day and cursed the rain the next? What changed? The rain didn't change. You did. So you can think about your life and feel hopeless or you can think about your life and feel hopeful. That is all up to you. During the Holocaust Anne Frank said that she still believed that people were good at heart. If Anne frank could say that while hiding from the Germans in an attic for two years, maybe you could see your own life in a different light.

cos Hopelessness is not an option in life. Do you know of anyone who is hopeless? I don't think so because hope would not just stand and do nothing seeing them hopeless. & for you, you are not hopeless cos for thinking of such a question, you 'HOPED' to get a reasonable answer. so you see, you are still hopefull. Except you are talking about hop.

Not meaning to be the grammer teacher around here,
but shouldn't your question read:
Why aren't you hopeless?
Just curious? And if that's the correct
assumption then my answer is:
Hopelessness comes only when you pin
all of your hopes onto people, places and things.
The flesh cannot be satisfied, for only the soul can be completely fulfilled.
So, without Christ there is no fulfillment. And without that
fulfillment there is no belief/faith. And without that
belief/faith there is no hope.

Being hopeless gives you nothing to wake up for...I believe every day I wake up is a new day, with new experiences and a choice to move from where I am now, to where I want to be. Life is to awesome to be hopeless.
