My foundation looks fine until I put powder on. The powder makes it look cakey and so does the concealer. I use foundation, then concealer, then powder. The concealer is for pimples and it looks cakey and weird. The powder just sticks to it and makes it worse. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.

Whipped foundation by CG
cream concealer by Mark.
I use loose powder to set foundation and I apply foundation with a sponge.

are you using a liquid foundation, two way cake or mousse foundation?
how about your concealor? is it liquid/gel concealor or stick concealor?
and your powder, is it loose finishing powder meant to set liquid foundation or are you using compact powder?
it all matters and i'm afraid i cant give you a detailed answer until you give more details.
but one way to make foundation less heavy and cakey would be to spray a little toner onto a sponge(those material same as a sponge wedge) and pat it all over your face lightly.

Apply foundation lightly, then just dot concealer on problem areas, tapping it gently into the skin and feathering the edges outward. Too much will usually look gunky. Don't try to cover everything if you have a lot of acne problems, use some treatments to try to clear them up first. Use powder sparingly and use a brush to apply it rather than a puff, which can get dirty very fast. It is much easier to wash a brush, which you should do about once a week.

Ok well my friend works at the store bare escentuals and she is realllyyy good at doing makeup ( i went there yesterday ) and she put makeup on me and showed me exactly how to make it not look cakey.
Go to a store bare escentuals
Get mineral poweder makeup and put a little in the cap and swirl it around with a concealer brush and put it on blemishes and then take a brush and swirl it around again and put it all over and thats all you need.
By the way... Bare escentuals makeup is oil free so it also is a concelear so you get less pimples and have a less oily skin. I love it there they have the best makeup.
Go there and ask if they can give you a makeover and show you how to do it and then buy the stuff.
good luck girl!!

Too much on your face. Try just using the concelear and powder for a little while and see how that works. It might even help clear up your acne a little. And it's going to look cakey and weird when you put a tub of makeup on your face everyday!!!
Tone it down!!!!

2 products I use from LAminerals that work GREAT together that would fix your problem:
The greenish Hide It concealer. And the Hollywood mineral foundation.
The concealer is a powder, but creamy feeling. Lil goes a loonnnggg way and stays all day. The hollywood foundation covers great and looks creamy and natural.
