A very small percentage delude themselves into thinking they are better off, but the only people who are REALLY better off are the super rich, ie Bush's base. Most of us are far worse off, and most of us know it. *sm*

Remember 9/11 all that died RIP...i think every American is better off now, this is not in money terms but you have less chance of another 9/11, now that cost more than just Money.I think you have to look at the Whole picture and not through tinted glasses...YOU took the fight to the bad guys...and WILL win...it cost's money but would you sooner have a 9/11 every other week?? like the UK had in the 70's 90's with the IRA...That some people in the US supported.!!!!...or have you forgot that....and just to add petrol(gas) is an average of £1.05 per Litre in the UK...Nearly £5.00 a gallon...Diesel is £1.10 per Litre in the UK...WELL you guess a gallon....DO you want to swap?? as you pay Half that and get Half MPG....you are better off than you think....And love him or hate him..Bush is not to blame for everything....don't forget that.....and 10% on the cost of living?? don't think so.The Credit Crunch is down to not spending to much..as most is in housing market and not in a food bag...ok thats why US interest rates are so low...If you Want to see Inflation and no food!!! Look at Zimbarbwa..15,000% inflation no food or very little food on the shelfs in the shops...Sorry can not hear the mighty US speaking out on this one....But Hey they got NO Oil.......Just starving people.....AND YOU DARE TO MOAN!!!!!!

No one who had an adjustable rate mortgage, has a lot of transportation costs, or is in the armed services. Even those who have more money because of tax cuts are stifled by the fact that the dollar is fast going the way of the peso. And although I don't anticipate needing social security, it sure could be rough going for those that do.

Well for one, I am and my children all have beautiful new homes they have went from 9,50 and 12,50 an hour average to 20,00 and 22.00 an hour average I have 4 son and one daughter. But I must admit they work and they work hard.. All of them are fortunate to have jobs they can advance on.And they are go getter, they have their children as they can afford them, that helps a lot too.So I think it the person and what their goals are. more than to credit or take away from the government on this. We do not rely on the government to keep us going ,unless it is our due benefits such as SS that we have already paid into. when we reached the age. Hope this helps.

I'm better off now than when Bush took office, but it has to do with my hard work. It has not one fvcking thing to do with who the President is.

I will say that the fact that less of my money gets soaked up by the government to pay for the lives of those who don't work as hard as I do has helped quite a bit.

Probably the same percentage that worked hard, followed the law and used common sense and took responsibility for their actions. Those depending on the government or others to take care of them did not fare so well. No matter who is President, some will be better off than others. To find the one responsible for your status, look in the mirror.

Many of those working in the government are better off and those in the defense industry are certainly better off as well as those who invest in those industries .

I would say around 35% of americans are doing better today then they where 7 years ago .

However the other 65% are much worse off and furthure in debt then ever before .
Not only their debts but the debts they now owe to this nation for its reckless spending .

not many. this adminstration keeps cutting programs, taxing everything. fewer jobs, people losing homes, etc. therefore i don't think that many poeple are in better fiancial shape these days. this all happens because of global economy. the ways we live is not based on americas economy.

Yup, economic conditions have declined. And they'll surely get worse before they get better.
My business is definitely down since he took office. But on the other hand, swings of this sort have happened before and they will surely happen again.

But America as a whole is much less safe. Safe from war, safe from economic disruptions and, perhaps, economic collapse.

In that respect, we are far worse off.

But Hallibuton and Bechtel and Blackwater, etc are doing great.
