I have never tried to "skip" my period on birth control before because I find that you should probably have a period for health reasons.
But on birth control I noticed my period is longer, 5 days on the pills compared to 3 days off them.
Regardless I have been taking the pills for a couple of months now and I just got my period yesterday. New Year's is coming up and I really would like to just "skip" this one period but I have already taken three green pills.
Can I just take my first active pill tomorrow night to stop my period by New Year's - even though I have already taken 3 (and tonight will be the 4th) green pills?
Also if I take the active pill tomorrow night to stop my period - do I just go ahead taking the rest of the active pills like I never "shortened" my period length?

Thanks so much.

Green pills being the placebo pills which I have already taken three of, so as of now I have been following the pack just like normal but I want me period to be gone before New Year's so I was going to take an active pill tonight or tomorrow tonight to "shorten" my period. Is it too late? Do you have to totally miss the placebo pills or can you take the active pill in midstream?

That shouldn't be a problem--just take the first active pill tonight, and complete the new pack as normal.

As long as you otherwise take them as directed, you can skip your period by skipping the placebo pills and moving directly to your next pack. However, I'm not sure since you have already taken 3 placebo. I don't know how long it takes for your body to register the real pill. I usually start my period about 3 days after I start the placebo pill so it might be too late.

hang on all pills are different colours Which ones are the green ones?

If your period is already started let it finish. On your last week of pills you are supose to start a fresh pack before your period starts. Too late now

It is way too late to try to skip your period using birth control.

Just take some tampons and midol.

You should also get the OK from your doctor before trying to screw with hormone drugs like that.
