The one that makes the car that best fits the driver. There is no "best" anymore. All cars are made out of the same steel, with the same manufacturing processes. Having said that, all cars today are far far better than 20 years ago. People have been lured into thinking that imports are better for some reason, yet they still have service departments imagine that......I GUARANTEE you a ford fusion or chevy impala will last as long if not longer than an import under the same use/abuse. I'll bet my import on it. (I certainly didn't buy it by choice...) Bottom line, TAKE CARE OF YOUR CAR and give it the credit it deserves and don't accept the BS consumer reports likes to feed you and your car will last longer than you care to keep it.

Honda is the best and some parts and assembly are 60% or so made in America.
I think Kia is made in Taiwan and Mazda is foreign too, but in part, is made by Ford.
According to car reports or consumers reports; Mazda has its problems and reliability is an issue on some their models.
I know Honda leases the best because of the residual after 3years or 45,000 miles.
For reliability and resale, I would buy a Civic with the digital speedometer.

Depends what you are looking for in a car, do you want gas milleage , dependability , alot of cool electronic things? Its hard to ask that question (its like asking a fisherman the perfect techniqe to catch a fish) mainly because theres gonna be a bunch of tree huggers that will say honda and toyota and nissan are the best which is fine ,but they have just as many problems and recalls as US Auto Makers have, and repairs arnt cheap and are more labor intensive that US cars in some aspects.Me personaly i like Ford and GM and would choose either of those two before i would every buy foreign.I wouldnt worry about it honestly there is no such thing as a perfect car,if they perfected every aspect of the car with lifelong parts and wires that would be a easy $30,000 aditional mark up.I would say its personal prefference, although im not sure about kia not a fan of them, but the mazdas are pretty good and yes they are a part of fords, not to mention fords quality is steadily surpassing toyotas and hondas .Either way I would buy american.Hope this helps.I also like the GM Pontiac line of cars like the grand am and grand prix so i would say personal prefference to be fair to you i would test drive the ones you are intrested in and see how you like the way they feel and handle.Good luck.

Good indicators are resale value and how many you observe going through the local "auto auction", cars people are getting rid of. Pontiacs and Chrysler Siebrings as well as low-end Fords and Chevys are considered "throw away" cars. Honda has done very well for me, but I imagine with similar service and use, a Honda and a Toyota would quit running within 10 miles of each other. As for American made cars, take a look under the hood. It doesn't take long to see just how many imported parts are used.

These opinions are crackin me up. American cars are the best period. The imports so called made in America is stupid. The profits still go to japan. Those are the throw away cars. Opinions varey and the uneducated dogs on American not having a clue what their talking about. I have drove Ford all my life and never, I mean never ! had any issues. I will hold my Ford prouduct up against any import in quality and reliability, and so will Ford. They launched the Ford challenge and beat the imports. Fords trucks have been best selling 30 years running in all classes, not to mention the highest payload, most towing, most reliable, and by far best quality. Let them keep buying their silly little imports, it will just keep the price of my Fords down. They have never had a problem with their imports, and I have never had a problem with my American.

Mazda and Kia is not American.
Mazda is Japanese. Ford owns %30 of Mazda so they can use some of their parts, but Mazda's are still Mazda's.
Kia is Korean. It is owned by Hyundai, which is also Korean.
Honda is the best company.
