My aunt wrote a book about Arizona history. Iam not that ambitious, I have started a book(fiction) about animals.
Iam a Louis L'Amour fan. I really enjoy reading stories about the west. Thats where I was originally from. Have many relatives in New Mexico.

Morgan, how fascinating that you have that knowledge to be able to write a book! Good for you, I wish you the best in your endeavor. The closest I've come to writing a book is gathering all the recipes from the different generations of my family into one recipe book and passing them on to the children and grandkids. It's amazing how cooking terminology changes over the years.
Although, now that I think about it, my hubby is always saying something like, "when it comes to getting into trouble, Gladys wrote the book on it." So, maybe I did write another book!

I wrote a couple of romantic mysteries about 30 years ago, I think they are still in a desk drawer someplace. Never did anything with them as far as trying to find a publisher. I think there is still one in there that is half finished also.
The only writing I do now is an occasional article for the newspaper, or local magazine. And the newsletter for the bead store.

I have written a childrens short story and am on chapter four of a murder mystery...though both of them are unpublished (for now). One thing I am considering is "self publishing" and have been slowly gathering information on how to effectively do that at the least cost. I have not had these professionally critiqued, which I should do...however, I am apprehensive about the editing (or rejection) process that goes along with this. Great question.

No, I am waiting for the movie to come out first. I had a journalism class in college and our instructor told us that most likely every student would like to write a book. The saying that truth is stranger than fiction holds true. Hats off to you when you get your book published. I would enjoy reading your book on this subject and I know others would too.

Some things I've had happen in my life doesn't need to be in a book. I've seen a lot of killing and I try and forget it. As far as the history of ranchers and cowboys I doubt that will fade very fast!!!

I am attempting to write a book ... a bit like a long long letter to my grandchildren and great grand children etc.,
I am tagging it onto the Genealogy project I am presently researching. Basically a reflective look at their life, my life, my parents, their parents etc., Basic historical comparison, with various little bits of family history thrown in for good measure, its amazingly addictive and interesting, not sure how far its gonna go and when to finish ....?

Morgan, good for you! I lived in the high desert about one hundred miles south of Albuquerque for quite some time! the cows still roam free as well as every-ones horses! My nearest neighbor was five miles away... the nights were beautiful! The wind will drive you MAD!!! Very interesting place!
Big Star for your Hat!
In answer to your question.... I have been thinking about writing children's books, with an elf that has pink hair as the main character.

An admiral ambition. As a reader I have often thought I would like to write. I make very little headway before I realize, again, I have no talent. Good luck to you. It will be great to keep that history alive.
