I agree. I do indeed. I agree wholeheartedly.
It cracks me up when someone asks a question, "What's your favorite . . . " and when you give your honest answer, you get a bunch of thumbs-down. Why? If that is really my favorite, isn't that my own business?

I really understand your concern for thumbs down behavior of the questioners.
My answer is, why would you think your answers will always be thumbed down, why not up, at least once? Please stop imagining that all the answerer's adopt a "sugar coat" attitude always. I do not know about the other millions, but honestly I give answers deep from my heart and well tailored so that it serves the purpose of answering and help somebody who is badly in need of it. One has to be smart enough or listen to some good advice. If none of these two qualities is present, then you are a scrap, adamantly not using your sixth sense.

Anyone can give a thumbs down not just the asker. I think some people cruise questions giving thumbs down at random, against certain people they have targeted or against any opinion they don't agree with.
Thumbs up and down have no permanent effect, ignore them.

I don't really care if people give me thumbs down. I gave my opinion, if you agree, thumbs up. If you don't, thumbs down. Simple as that. I'm not like... offended if someone doesn't like my answer!

That`s the point isn`t it...to vote our opinion? If you agree, thumbs up - if not, thumbs down. It`s nothing personal.

No, I do not think that there is any point in that. Yes, I think that you should continue to answer questions honestly, as long as you refrain from insulting other participants.
