I'm on Facebook every day for at least one hour, possibly two hours. I need help in breaking this addiction. I put off doing the things that I need to do in order to go on Facebook.

It seems possible to me that you are using Facebook for some other reason. That is, perhaps you are going on Facebook for long periods of time because you are avoiding doing something else that you think you should do. Or perhaps you are feeling cut off from the affection of family and friends and you are using Facebook to try to make up for that. I suspect that when you address whatever underlying issues may be driving you to do this, the Facebook "addiction" will go away on its own.

If this is seriously affecting your quality of life, why not go to a psychiatrist or psychologist and have yourself evaluated? The doctor can then recommend an appropriate treatment.

I have never tried Facebook. 2 hrs isn't addiction. Why, one can spend more than 6 hrs on YA! I wonder what's so exciting about Facebook, other than sharing photos???

Most people go online because they have nothing to do. I suggest you call up your freinds and hang out and go do outside activities like going to a movie or go to a concert. Anything to take your attention off of facebook will do.

i quit before the real addiction set in. closing your account would be 1 option, or just not going on at all.
