Me and my boyfriend are going to Vegas in March for his brothers wedding.

We are relatively young (23-24) and are main "concerns" are being at the hotels with the best nightlife and a nice pool. I guess were kinda looking for the "cool" hotel- as dorky as that sounds.

Now- thatd be easy.. if we had unlimited money... but we are also on a budget.. so.. price is a consideration as well.

Anyone know a fun cheaper hotel with good nightlife etc? It doesnt have to be crazy-cheap or anything (im not talking motel 6) but also not 300.00 a night

You should try the Gold Coast. I am never stayed there. It is close to the Palms and across from the RIO.

The hard rock is usually fun, and I don't think it's really expensive. They don't have the "best" pool, but it is a pretty fun pool and it's a pretty young crowd.

Stay away from the bellagio. It's beautiful and the rooms are nice, but the atmosphere is really pretentious and uptight.

The rio is also fun, they do a free show at night and throw mardi gras beads. The voodoo lounge is ok, it should be warm enough for it in May. It's on the roof, and the dance area is actually outside. The view is absolutely gorgeous, and usually if you go before 8:00 p.m it's free. Otherwise it's 30 bucks per person.

Check the website of wherever you're staying, or any clubs you want to go to and find out if they let you in free if you come early, or if they have discounts on certain nights. It can make a big difference in your trip budget. Have fun!

Also, if you walk around the casino in the evening without your husband for a few minutes, you'll probably get handed a free pass into the nightclub. We do that to save money sometimes too, ;).

If the economy doesn't improve, you will probably be able to get any hotel on the strip for less than $150 on those nights. NO hotel is charging more than that for weekdays right now. Summer rates are still being quoted around the same as last year but that is wishful thinking by the hotels and they are almost certainly going to be coming down. Start shopping after Victoria Day and look for good deals at Bellagio, Venetian, Palazzo, or even Wynn - you will be amazed what $150 can get you in Vegas.

My favorite hotel in Vegas is The Rio, located a 1/2 mile west of The Strip. I have stayed there, eaten there, gambled there, and have had a lot of fun there! I was`last there about 8 years ago, so I don't know what the room rates are now. In the late 90s you could get a really nice room for $89 a night. The rooms are much larger than average, but I wouldn't exactly call them suites despite the hotel's name for all the rooms. IF you stay there, book a room facing towards The Strip-very cool at night!

The Rio has a nightclub and a bar on the top floor of the hotel. The buffet is excellent w/ Mexican,American,Asian,European, dishes. Gambling odds are fairly good. And there are a lot of nice stores there as well.

Surprisingly the Sahara and Tropicana both have great rates, as well as Circus Circus. The clubs for night life are everywhere but the popular ones are Luxor, Palms, Wynn, and Hard Rock; but room rates are higher there.

It is winter here so don't expect to use the pool; most are closed. Right now our temps are 50 during day and 29 at night; this is the Mohave Desert.

To find your best pick I recommend you go to www.lasvegas.now a local TV station that includes a VR trip on The Strip and other links to places to stay and shows. There is also www.lasvegas.com OR www.vegas.com

If you don't have to be "on the Strip" (Downtown is zzzzz), I would look at the web sites of Red Rock Resorts, great pool and night club OR Green Valley Ranch; both Station Casino properties.

Oh, and the best rates except on holidays are always Monday through Thursday nights.

Look into the costs on websites for Hard Rock, The Palms, The Rio. Even cheaper are the casinos off the Strip. Sam's Town, Station casinos They're all over town with the nicest is Red Rock casino. You'd have to rent a car tho if you don't stay on the strip. Oh also check out Planet Hollywood. I don't know the price ranges but I know they raise them on weekends & holidays. Just about all the casinos have something for everyone tho.

trust me on this one. go to this website cheapovegas.com on the main page you can click on like 50 different hotels and it gives a really detailed description of what the rooms are like, how much they usually run, tells what the pools are like, what type of people stay here, etc. to the left of the hotel list is a section called cheapdeals click on the hotel bargin bin, it will show you rates that people just booked and what website they booked through so you can check out a bunch of stuff all on one page!

It seems as if you are a perfect fit for Luxor. It is priced reasonably. It has all of the frills you are looking for. Luxor has the hotterst club in Vegas right now. LAX Nightclub has all of the celebs and cool party people. Furthermore, the pool at Luxor is very nice. Its cool the way the pyramid slopes down right to the pool. Very nice.

Check it out and enjoy your stay.

They are all very good but I'd go for a mid range hotel such as Luxor, NYNY, MGM Grand or Excalibur. Their websites should offer any deals for cheaper rates.
Have fun

treasure island.
tangerine is there and next door is the mirage that has jet.
plus you have a walkway to the mall, and your across the street from venetian.
not to mention you can go grab a drink at social house and watch for celebrities. last time i was there i sat one table over from Dave Navarro. (if you go, i highly suggest ordering a glass of star rabbit - its a sparkling Sake, delish!)

also before you go to clubs you can get on their guestlists at www.napkinnights.com - its all free. have fun!

definitely DO NOT stay on fremont street. those hotels are nasty.
