I live in Pakistan. I'm completely in shock. I wasn't a supporter of hers, but I am deeply saddened by her death. Unfortunately, it willl have a detremental impact on the country as a whole, not only in the political environment. Bhutto was an extremely popular figure here. There will be rioting and bloodshed initially. The elections scheduled for Jan 8th will be postponed and serious inquires will be held to point the finger as far away from President Musharraf as possible. Pakistani people are already highly agitated and this is the last thing the country needed at this time.

Ask yourself this,,,,,who gain the most in her death?
1. Mussaraf---no, America was hoping that Bhutto will form an alliance with him thus he will gain if Bhutto is still alive. With 2 opposition leaders, ie Bhutto & Sharif,,,Mussaraf might even win the election because of split votes among the oppositions. Bhutto is pro America,,,,
2. Sharif---maybe, he wanted to have an alliance with Bhutto but they could not come to an agreement. With Bhutto dead, the opposition votes is united & the chances of him to be elected again as PM is highly possible. But does he have the guts & connection to carry out the assasination?
3. Al Queda--yes. They gain the most with her demised. The country is in chaos,,a good hunting ground for more recruits. They blame it on the Government,,,more chaos & disatisfaction. Thus the Government of Pakistan could not effectively concentrate they attention on the activity of the Al Queda, leaving the fanatics a free run of the country,,,,
Conclusion,,,,,,,Al Queda definately have a hand in her death

I would not be surprised at all if we find out in the next few months that the assassination of Bhutto was carried out by Musharraf with the knowledge and help of the Bush administration. The assassination got rid of Musharraf only political rival and also sent a clear message to Musharraf that he better do what Bush and Cheney want or he is next.

Al Quaeda. Only Al Quaeda and Sharaf the other prime minister candidate had anything to gain from her death. And I don't believe Sharaf would do it. Musharraf definately wouldn't. Once Bhutto became prime minister his place as president was assured but if Sharaf won he wants Musharraf to resign.
