deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth. That's the best way to breathe during any type of workout.

I agree with the first poster.

Long, slow inhalation through the nose. Hold for a count of 5 then slowly release through the mouth. Repeat.

Here is the issue: you only use about 20-30% of your lung capacity doing normal activity. You have to breath in and hold to get the other parts of the lung to start processing oxygen. This sets you up for more vigorous exercise in the next few minutes.
