Help. Please answer this question about Sims 2 PC. .?

I heard that you can go on websites ( like modthesims2.com ) and download clothes, hair, and makeup,etc. Well i download some and there saved on my computer but not in my Sims 2 game. How do i get them in my sims pc game.

You'll have to install them into the game. Just go into the game's folders which are located under your (my) documents:

EA Games>Sims 2, then click on the downloads folder. If you don't have one, that's fine, just create one yourself by right clicking, then choose "new folder", then name it Downloads. The "D" must be capital. Now you have a downloads folder.

From there, depending on what you downloaded, you may have to unzip the file if you have Winzip. If you don't, you'll have to download the file. Just right click the files, choose extract to, then downloads folder. Or extract to your desktop and manually move them to your downloads folder. They should now show up in your game.

If the file is a package file, which looks like a box with a figure in it, just double click, then click save. It will self install.

Now, go into the bodyshop and check for your new files. I do it this way, so that if I don't like what they look like, I can delete them quickly.

If you download something that requires a mesh, you MUST have that mesh before the item will work. If it doesn't have the mesh, it'll show up as something other than what you tried to download.

Mod the sims.com you need winrar to open and install the items, takes too long and sometimes does not work. www.thesimsresource.com is great, it easy to install and even though it is a paid website, they have plenty of free stuff to download. they have the install wizard that will automatically put the downloads into your game. you can download the items with the sims2pack, which will also downloads the item straight to your game. when you start the game a blue window will pop up, make sure that you click on enable custom content, if not what you downloaded will not show up.

You do have to register, you can do that for free as well. Great website, been using it for 5 years now.
