None of us would have seen/heard that at all if it hadn't have been for Peter Jones' intervetion. If he hadn't have stepped in , then today would have been the last 'C4 races' , so they said on 'the morning line'

Not at all. "Making all the running" means that the horse and jockey had to set the pace from the front. Its all about the skill of the trainer and the jockey in combination with the natural ability and inclination of the horse. What sport you go for is all a matter of taste. Every sport is about skill, ability, competition and a combination of factors. IIf you haven't the taste to appreciate it stick to darts (which I suppose is a sport not to my taste?)
