Don't open the bleed valve, this will let air into the system and then you'll have to bleed it when you get the problem fixed. All you have to do is take a large screw driver and wedge it between the pad and the rotor and pry easily and the caliper should release so you can get it off. Now , once you get it off you'll need to find the problem with the caliper. Why it froze up in the first place. If it happened to both fronts at the same time, I would say that it would be the main unit. I had one go bad and it did the exact same thing, froze both calipers. But if it was just one side it could be you have moisture in the lines and it has frozen up. You didn't say how old the truck was or what type of climate your in. All could be factors. Good Luck.

I’m assuming the caliper is held in place with the wedges top & bottom. Remove the wedges by tapping through with a punch. Pry the caliper off the rotor. Buy new rotors, brake pads, & both calipers. If one side is in poor condition the other is not far behind.

Before installing the new calipers, remove all rust from the caliper rails & “V” grove for the wedges. New hardware will come with the calipers. Buy a tube of silicone brake grease. Apply the grease to the rails on the caliper & bracket. DO NOT get any on the rotor or pads. Note which way the wedges fit the caliper. Make sure they are the right way around.

unsrew the bleeder valve and take the brake line loose then take all of the hardware loose that holds the caliper in place. then turn wheel so that you can get a good hit on the caliper on the piston side. then hit it with a 2 pound hammer. until it breaks free. The hammer may damage the caliper but it was going to need to be replaced anyway.

crack the bleeder valve..... but check for collapsed brake hose..You didn't say but is it just the pad on the caliper stuck? if so smack the metal part of the pad with a hammer. if it's the calipes stuck on and holding the pad to disc do what i suggested first.....good luck
