I did when I was in college.
*The excitement
*Helping people in need.
I'm SO glad that I didn't, though.
*The stress is so bad, in California at least, that when a cop died after retirement it was (is?) deemed a workers Comp issue if it happened within a few years of their retirement (this was something I learned about several years ago when I was still in law school).
*Several of my law enforcement buddies tell me that they're guaranteed at least one felony bust per shift, and a couple of fist fights per week.
My hat's definitely off to anyone who chooses this line of work.
I'm SO thankful that I chose other professions.

Members of the Allman Brothers Band would stop by, too, when they were in town, looking for a jaunt down memory lane or to jam one more time in the place that provided so much inspiration.
"There were several places we made our base, but nothing was like the Big House," Trucks said. "A lot of incredible things happened there. I remember walking around one morning and (band member) Dickey (Betts) was sitting there at the kitchen table. I could hear him humming this sound, and it turned out to be 'Ramblin' Man.'"

the police are the ones who are at risk 24/7, this time of year they have to put up with so much because of the drunks in the street trying to be clever after a few pops, it's not worth it unless you want to be a desk cop and do paper work all day....personally, i would not like to be a cop, nurse, doctor or anything in them lines of work, the police, along with the rest are unappreciated and get no credit for the work they do....if it weren't for them, this place would be out of control...applause to the police....

I guess it depends where you live. People give the cops a lot of flack but it's a dangerous job in most places.
Personally I wouldn't want to be a cop.

No. It takes a certain kind of mightier than thou kind of jerk to be a police officer. Don't get me wrong. I support them totally and we need them in society. I have got uncles who are staties in Jersey. I just don't have it in me to ruin someones life with stroke of a pen.
