I don't mind shopping. In fact, I enjoy just browsing. I even like to go grocery shopping...in a CIVILIAN supermarket. For some reason, I can only last about 4 aisles (after the veggies) in a Navy Commissary store. I once was in Charleston and went to the USAF base commissary there on they way from work to my efficiency apt. All I wanted was a few bottles of soda. I had no cart. I finally saw them at the far end of an aisle and headed that way. All of a sudden this woman looms in front of me and asks if I'm blind. "Can't you see the arrows on the floor?! You're going the WRONG WAY!"
I immediately threw my hands to my face and cried "Oh, no! I've done something so terribly wrong! What am I going to do? Will I go to jail? Will my family know where I am? I'm so sorry, please don't turn me in. I won't do it anymore!"
Then I walked around her and laughed my head off.

Not just one thing. I HATE all kinds of shopping...period.
I haven't been to a mall in 25 years....and have no intentions of going to one. If I need something from a "mall" store, I park near the entrance to that store, run in to get what I want and back out again.
Hate grocery shopping......hate putting it away when I get home too.
I like yard sales, flea markets, church or civic sponsored sales, street fairs, etc.
I travel quite frequently and enjoy wandering through the markets in foreign places picking up this or that.

There are several, Wally, not just one.
Waiting in a long line when someone ahead of you is buying the store out and I have only one to two things.
That annoying music which is always too loud
Kids allowed to run loose
Being asked for my ID when I've shopped there billions of times before without being asked

I don't like getting to the store to find that the things I wanted to buy are not in stock -- or, when I ask a sensible question about a product and the salesperson looks at me as though I have three heads. Generally speaking, though, I find shopping is not unpleasant and the staff in the stores are usually helpful.

Yes, ..a size large has shrunk down to about a size zero...nothing fits. ( it must be the manufacturers ) . I remember when a large or medium actually fit a large or medium size person....and whats with this belly hanging out thing??? I don't want to look at my own belly why would I want to show it to everyone else? And the undies? Why would they make french cut undies in a size 9? Ewwwy...its just asking for a creeper. (LOL) have a great new year!

Yes, the way the stores have so few people to help when you can't find something or don't know squat about what you are trying to buy, and I can't stand to wait in line as it hurts physically so I don't shop very often. I detest grocery shopping..it hurts to much.

When you thought the wife was only forcing you away from vital outside jobs for a couple of hours...then, every yard along the street she meets old friends and spends a minimum of 15 minutes with each.

What is this word 'shopping?' Oh! Yeah! Got it! It's when you go out, to get something and you have to choose something and you have to stand , in a line, to pay for it with money that you really don't want to part with, and you get it home and find it's not what you really wanted in the first place!

1. The layout of stores - particularly large ones. They are set up to MAKE you travel throughout the entire daggum store to find one item [particularly clothing]....I don't wish to spend precious time doing so and it irritates me to no end. Not to mention they are worse than a smorgasborg diner....entirely too many from which to choose. Which is why I used to prefer 'boutiques' - which also have all but disappeared.
2. Salespeople - either I can't find one, or I have one who has decided to velcour themselves to my bod.
I do most of my shopping now online...with the exception of Pier 1 Imports and World Market.

There's only 2 things I hate about shopping:
1: Salespeople who hound you when you don't need any Friggin' help.
2: When I DO need help, I can't find any help.
When I'm asked if I need any help, my usual answer is, "Not unless you want to help me look."
I like the crowds and watching all the people, especially at Christmastime.
