Guns do not cause people to become violent. I am a girl......I had an adorable cowboy outfit as a kid with a cap gun....didn't make me question my sexuality or become violent. I don't own a gun either. Children will make guns with their fingers if a gun isn't present in play. Like it or not....self preservation is in us and humans will fight when they have to using whatever means are available.

I had a gun as a child and my dad was vigilant in safety about it. Never point it at anyone even in play. Never point it at yourself. Don't look down the barrel. (lol) Basic stuff. He had guns and hunted. Before I ever wondered about them he taught me about them. Let me shoot them (the guns)....never held any interest to me at all. Knives are used to kill people.....learning how to use one safely doesn't make you a murderer.

I don't get how a society can ban guns and yet still place one in your hands for war. Sometimes aggression is necessary.......sometimes guns are necessary.......the gun isn't the problem....it's the people behind them.

Yes....I let my girls play with toy guns......neither one is aggressive or owns a gun now. They also had a bow and arrow. Didn't make them go out and shoot defenseless animals for "fun" either. But they know the proper way to use them if the need arises.

before i had a toy gun i would use my fore finger and thumb to pretend and play cops and robbers, or cowboys and indans.

the toy weapon does not cause the rough play of boys, they just play that way, the toy just is for something to visualize with.

think about it boys from the forties and fifties dressed up like cowboys or army men with toy gun and riffles, had BB guns, went hunting bird and squirrels in the local woods, and went on to march for peace.

if you really look at girls, they are just as violent sometimes, and they didn't run around playing with toy guns, now did they.

the violence is already there, raise them right and they will be okay.

I think little boys see war as a game...
they enjoy it and that's all...
Me as a parent i would try to clear the difference between game gun toys and real guns and the danger they evolve...
If u ask me u are born aggressive u can't become suddenly
