Yes here in southern Minnesota . It was not the best display but very cool. Like neon light,s dancing in the sky. Kind of like a flag waving in the wind. I did not know what it was at first. Thought it was just my imagination at first. Some day i,ll go to Alaska to see the real deal. A friend lived there for a while and showed me some picture,s. It was like sheet,s of light,s roiling across the sky. I guess it is solar radiation hitting the ozone layer. One of nature,s wonder,s .

As a matter of fact I have, 19 years ago when I was in Fairbanks, Alaska with my ex-husband (he was in the Army) and we were stationed at Ft Wainwright. It was dark most of the time in the winter and I remember seeing them out of our spare bedroom window. They are just like the pictures you see of them except they were moving in beautiful colors.

Funny you should ask this. My husband and I were talking about this the other night while watching a tv program about Alaska. No, I have never seen them in real life, but it's on my "do before you die' list.
