I feed mine twice a day, but just enough for them to finish in a couple of minutes. I used to only feed them once a day, but they were always kinda lethargic toward the end of the day, so I switched to twice a day, and the difference was immediate, plus they're just healthier this way.
Anything more than twice a day seems excessive to me, since they are notorious nibblers anyway, which brings me to another point. Live greenery is great for this because not only does it oxygenate the water, but if they want a "midnight snack" they can raid the greenery, kinda like we raid our fridge. They also tend to nibble at whatever is in the gravel.
Now, technically, they can go for several days without food, but you shouldn't let that become a habit. Once to twice a day is perfectly fine. One more thing; they are extremely gluttonous, so when you feed them, remember what I said in my first sentence. Hope this helps.

once should suffice, though many people believe it is a good idea to only feed every 2 or 3 days. Watch out with overfeeding goldfish as they already create a lot of amonia on their own, but adding uneaten food to the mix will make your tank nasty very quickly.

Fish are actually grazers, and need to be fed a very small amount several times a day (3-5). All of the food should be gone in 5 minutes, and you shouldn't see any laying at the bottom of the tank.

If you feed them once a day, you're not going to kill them...it's just better for them if you feed them several times.

I would say a little bit once a day.

Maybe give it some bread later on in the day as a treat. But only ounce in a while.

once a day is fine and you will be able to tell if you are over feeding them if there is alot of left over food on the bottom of the tank.

Once a day is enough. Never overfeed your goldfish, since they will turn ill.
