You know, I don't remember ever having to go to bed on New Year's Eve! If anything, my parents would keep us awake, and tease us if we got tired on New Year's Eve!! They gave us coffee and everything!!

5. And I am going to let my 5 year old try it this year. It's really not a holiday unless you get to stay up late. I think it will be fun. No there are no jetpacks but we always did very fun things to pass the time when I was growing up and hope I can make it as fun for her.

As long as I can remember. The only thing I ever fought was trying to stay up that late so that I can ring it in. I was usually in bed when I was younger but around 12 or 13 I was able to ring it in with everyone else!! 18 was the best!!

I'm 11 now, but for as long as i could remember, I've stayed up. They also let me drink a tiny bit of wine, and samples of my mothers wine, my fathers whiskey, and my grandma's beer, even when i was in, like, the 1st and 2nd grade

Funnily enough, my parents were never there on said night - they would be off the pub getting ratted. So they never "let us" be up, we just were. And I was so young, I can't remember.
In the case of my own children, I let them from the age of 7.
Cheers, Steve.

I could stay up every New Year's Eve since I was born unless I was tired and I wanted to go to sleep.
