If you are asking about sleep dreams. They are not reality anyway.
If by dreams you mean aspirations, then yes some do not come to reality because the aspiration is too high.

while a dream -a genuine dream out of your heart- starts again real, confident, you're getting THERE... be certain you're making waiting and growing to be the dreamed YOU, so as which you fit completely into the dream come real... so as that it may final constantly... :-) actuality is amazingly distinctive from how human beings in lots of situations see it -complicated, tragic, gray, hollow...-; actuality is touching the sky, that's finding interior the attention of genuinely the... and seeing IT staring decrease back at you... with a candy smile... you're getting nearer... ;-)

I had a dream about a little boy being pulled through a car window by zombies.

True. Anybody who dreams of controlling the flow of time in any way that might be useful in re-shaping their 'present' would be disappointed.
