-625 ^ -1/4= 4th root of 625=5 ^-1= -1/5

A negative number cannot have a real, even numbered root.
An exponent of -1/4 is the same as the reciprocal of the fourth root of the base. Since your base is negative, the reciprocal of the fourth root would be i/5, or the square root of -1 over 5.
