This started on Thursday morning, however, we did 2 loads of laundry Wednesday night with no issue.
The water is clean, so it's not back-up from the sewer, and it doesn't flood the laundry room, but there is obviously enough to have to clean up with a towel.

We haven't bumped or moved anything in the laundry room or near the washer and dryer.

the only logical answer is that the pipes going to the shower are leaking somewhere, could be a small hole or a leaking joint connection

Is there a drain in the Laundry room? Under the washer or dryer? If so, this is to drain water in case the washer overflows. It sound like the shower and laundry room are on the same line, and you may have a minor clog in the Laundry room. Move the machines, find out if it is there, and if so, Clear the line. Mt answer is different, because the above answers target other problems, so check mine too!! Happy Hunting

I would pull the access panel for the shower and check to see if a leak has developed. Also, it may be possible that your vent stack has become clogged and the shower water is back feeding into washer drain pipe, highly unllikely but entirely possible.

Agreed with David: You've got a leak in the shower plumbing.

I think it's the shower metering valve assy or one of the two valves likely the hot valve in older homes because you said it only happens when the shower is in use and the water appears clean.
