or will they constantly be under the glare of publicity and innuendo that surrounds their parents and missing older sister? Do you think that they could be emotionally damaged by the events of this year - even though they may not remember them, but from stories they read and hear as they get older? I wonder what sort of psychological damage something like this could do to a child that grows up in this sort of an environment. What do you think?

This is so sad. If the McCanns are guilty of more than child neglect the repercussions on these two innocents will be horrendous. If not guilty I think either one or both of them will turn on their parents for leaving them alone and contributing to what happened. If, as I now believe, the events of that awful night will never be unravelled the damage will probably chip away for years and who knows what the emotional effects will be. The psychological damage is already there and growing. Bless the pair of them, I would not wish this scenario on anyone.

Once the media spotlight dies down so will peoples attention. It depends on why you are interested what is the reason?? IS it because people think she is a sweet child and feel passionate about her cause and would want to know her every move (creepy) or the reality that the media are fixated on the tradgey that once resolved willbe a shut case. People might visit her in five years time when she is aware of what had happened to recall the loving response of industry , the media and complete strangers and maybe compare the sympathetic treatment to the public shaming this country has given many people for many centuries for far less.

Well, life will never be normal for them. The trauma of losing a sister, the massive media exposure which will dog them for some years to come, and the suspicions surrounding the parents, whether justified or not. I feel very sorry for them.

Through the McLiars serial neglect and selfish ways they have taken any chance of normality away from all of their childrens lives.
For that alone they should be punished.

Yes, yes, and yes. I think they may even blame themselves as they get older for something they don't even remember because 'If only we'd been awake'.
