due to severe weather warnings, most local events have been cancelled, friends have cancelled parties and b.b.q.s, so looks like a quiet one for us.

You sound as if you live in Australia.....severe weather warnings all around me here in Brisbane. It won't bother me - I'll be at work, doing a night shift. My companions will be 6 other nurses in various stages of tiredness, and we'll celebrate with a few crackers and sweets, and some soft drink. New Years resolutions will be fervently made, and no doubt most of them will be broken by the end of the week.

Happy New Year to you all !!

People driving on NY eve need nerf cars so they bounce when they hit. The ol gals here in the complex are going to turn on the big TV in the common area and make a pot of coffee and 'gossip' while the ball falls, I may go down for a bit if I am still awake. I am just not much for the constant yammer yammer about this and that concerning the residents here and in the other building. Our weather here in Idaho is also bad so many are staying home this year--good idea. Being number 4 in growth in the states is making the state into a bunch of transplants that are clueless about snow and ice. They seem to think a 4x4 is magic.

Since I divorced in 1990, I have not celebrated the New Year except to watch the parties and the ball drop on TV and then call some people that are still awake to wish them a Happy New Year. The old saying, "Another year older and deeper in debt" rings true for me unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, I love the celebrations, but my life has changed in many ways...some for the good and some for the bad. Happy New Year!

Our weather is supposed to turn severely cold, and since smoking is still allowed in most bars and clubs, I am planning on spending a quiet, safe evening at home with the dog watching a good movie and checking in with my friend on here. Happy New Year!

We'll have a relatively quiet evening at home. The kids may drop by early for a little supper. I'm making my traditional oyster stew, so we'll have that. My hubby and I will make a fire, have a toast, and probably be in bed by 10:00. We don't go out anymore, too many amateur drunks on the road!

Happy New Year to everyone!

My husband and I will be grilling a couple steaks and staying home. Too much snow to travel too far. We live in a very rural area, wanted to go to a casino and have dinner and blow a few dollars on the slot machines but alas we were blasted with another snow storm yesterday and last night..so..its Rib Eyes and Salad...a good movie, we might make it until midnight but MMMmmm maybe not. The question for us is...who is going out on the deck to grill the steaks??? Its a bit cold. Happy New year to all of you here on Seniors, I hope the new year treats you and yours well.....

No bad weather, no reason NOT to go out, just prefer the comfort of my own home with 'im indoors and the dog.
I couldn't possibly leave my lovely little baby all on his own on New Years Eve.... The dog I mean! Lol! Happy New Year.

My four cats and I will probably open a can of special cat food, and I might search around to find out whether there's anything left of a bottle of whiskey that was here last New Year eve..... a toddie with my felines at home is my favorite way to bring in the year.

Sorry it's like that for you, you sound very dissapointed!!....It will certainly be a quiet one for me too, but I've never really like going out on New Years eve, so I will be snuggled up with my dogs on one side and my brandy and coke on the other on the sofa and try and stay awake for when the family will ring me at midnight......lovely, just the way I want it to be!!

Happy New Year!! x
