On the face of it, you're right, but if you think about it a bit more deeply there's not such a direct link there. After all, it's not like there's a big pot of food and the West are grabbing more than their fair share. If we ate less, there wouldn't be a load of spare food suddenly going to Africa. Of course there would be health benefits to people who currently eat badly, but that's not really the point. All that excessive consumption (whether of food or electronic goods or toys or whatever) is what gives millions of people a living (many of them in under-developed parts of the world which desperately need Western money). I think we need to look at the bigger picture. Things are not as simple as they may seem at first sight.

I do have self belief there's a ethical criminal accountability to help all who're in desire whilst a threat. despite the fact that, morals do no longer symbolize criminal grounds for stated help. There are deeper issues in Africa than purely the certainty that there are hungry human beings and that they are in a position to't be solved by utilizing elementary help. Africa is awash in rampant human rights abuse and genocidal action. the worldwide will might desire to handle Africa in some unspecified time interior the destiny, yet that's a no win concern for all of us who gets in contact. the stable performed with the aid of help won't outweigh the negatives created from greater suitable action that's particularly required to stabilize the area. No united states of america can undertake this action as any who attempt would be considered and harshly categorized as aggressors. in basic terms the United international locations has the potential to particularly make a difference, yet as long as they stay dedicated to communicate and the visual charm of action, extremely than challenge the extremely no longer trouble-free possibilities required no longer something will exchange.

You don't need to connect these two serious and complex problems. In both regions the poor are hurt.
In the US a lot of the obesity problem is in low income areas. these people can afford the cheap pleasure of junk food. They may not have the money for a bike or a gym membership or the energy after working at a dull job to work out.

so should we obese people eat the africans?
my grandma told me ages ago you can only handle so much. you are not responsible for the whole world.
what about the starving dirt poor people here in america?
you take care of your own first, then lets see about the rest of the world.
its not like it just happened yesterday, they have become so dependant on hand outs they dont even fend for themselves. how can a person starve when theres all kinds of wild food walkin around all over the place

i will go along with that to some extent, you raise a good
point, but we also have a problem with hunger in america.
many poor and middle class families are having a hard
time feeing their kids. sure, food is readily avaliable inamerica, but some peole still cannot afford to feed
their familes. i will go along with your comment
to some extent.

If you truly are concerned why don't you do something about it? I understand they could use some help planting their fields, digging wells, caring for their stock, the list is endless. But noooooooo, you want to sit on your butt and point fingers. What a hypocrite.

Yes it Is disgusting...as a result America should no longer call itself the greatest nation on Earth...As far as The best place to live, that doesn't even qualify any more...we should not be proud of ourselves as a nation, or people...we seem to be greedy self-enveloped gluttons with no end in sight...
