I'm all for any tool that puts us, the law-abiding citizens, on an equal or superior footing with those who mean us harm.

Anti-guns. Why? Because I'm sick to death of hearing on the morning news - every morning - that yet another teenager or two or three or four have been shot dead in the streets during the night. I'm sick to death of movies and video games showing death as if it's meaningless and has no affect on anyone or anything outside the box it's being shown on. I'm against the NRA and it's ultra strong lobbyist because they've misinterpreted the Constitution to support their little hobby which is nothing more than playing god by ending someone or something's life. Their common mantra, 'guns don't kill - people do' is bullshlt because we know all too clearly that it's 'people with guns that kill people' as is demonstrated every morning on the local news station. It's definitely a 'man' thing and is the most absurd, inane, and insane practice people in this country are free to participate in - killing each other - and leaving the guns on the streets is giving these @ssholes permission to continue.

Then, sit back looking stupid when they ask 'why are americans such killers?'

I live in a country where guns are not so easy to obtain. As a consequence, a lot fewer people are killed by guns here than in the U.S. For that reason, I would not want to see guns become more readily available here. The problem with guns is that they make it easy to kill or harm another. It can be done rashly and impersonally. Mass murders of strangers, such as in Omaha and Virginia, do not happen without guns. You don't have "drive by stabbings." Children don't tend to accidently kill each other playing with baseball bats. So, yes, I know they are here to stay. But they should be treated as what they are. Very dangerous weapons which should be difficult to obtain.

Guns are an integral part of American society. We have 280 million legally owned guns and countless ones obtained illegally. Guns keep people who would harm us in check. England has double the number of assaults than the US as do other countires that have banned firearms.

More innocent people are killed with guns than bad people. Guns are a sign that the owner is living a life of fear.(that is if the gun is owned to possibly kill another person) and that statement goes for anyone.
