There are state run organizations that help find ex-felons jobs, like "Cossroads" here. You didn't say if you were still on parole or if you've worked thru that already. If you're still on parole then you can go to any employer and apply but you "must" say you are still on parole because your parole officer will be checking with that employer and may even be visiting you on the job or be asking you to have your appointment with them during working hours for which you'd need to be excused for a while from your job.

There are restrictions on which kind of job felons cannot have. They are prohibited from working for banks and finance companies, mortgage companies, etc. because they don't want you working with or handling money. They also are prohibited from working in some service jobs like working as a groundskeeper or plumber or pest control person or rug cleaner or anything that has to do with being around someone's home. See if you can find a list on the net and then determine which job you like to do that's not on the list and go apply. I know former felons work as car or mechanics.

There are several programs available for ex-offenders. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is available to employers as an incentive to hire felons. The Federal Bonding Program is another employer incentive, and ALL WorkForce development offices have counselors that help felons find employment. The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) provides funding for training and tools needed for a felon to acquire responsible and gainful employment. You may also want to consider temporary employment agencies. Many of them go out of their way to find employment for felons and many of these jobs are temp to hire..
