"No needle" vasectomy just means that the local pain killer is applied via an air jet instead of a needle. This is something like the "gun" they use to immunize you when you enter the military.

The NSV vasectomy has nothing to do with the so called "No needle". NSV means "No Scalpel". A special tool that is a sort of needle is used to puncture your scrotum, and to gain access to your vas tubes.

The old style of vasectomy has been around about 100 years. The technique is proven. Why risk using one of these new techniques? The doctor is not going to be paying out for any unplanned pregnancy, but you will.

Everything I have read suggests that it is not as reliable as a traditional vasectomy.
