give me a moment to answer that.
the right answer is critical to this important question. I want to make sure I have all the facts infront of me, I weigh all the options. Ok. letsee.
Ok, we have a doorbell ringing correct?
and we have a phone ringing..correct?
and they are both going on AT THE SAME TIME...correct?
not one after the other, but both at the EXACT SAME TIME?
ok, so the options would be:
1. answer the doorbell
2. answer the phone
3. do nothing.
oh good grief! by the time i made up my mind,
1. the doorbell stopped ringing AND AT THE SAME TIME
2. the phone stopped ringing.
i'm down to option 3.
do nothing.

Get the door. Especially if you have caller ID or an answering machine and can call back later. You don't want to leave someone standing at the front door or answer the door while on the phone with someone else, and if it's really important they'll call back.

Answer the phone and head to the door telling the person on the phone someone is at the door and to hang on.

Yell out hang on to the person at the door, answer the phone tell them to hang on then let person inside and tell them ill only be a minute

Grab the cordless and answer it while running to the door. Or I could just hit the "silence" button on the phone and wait for whoever was at the door to just go away.

Let the machine get the phone ignore the person at the door. They should have called first!

I really don't like opening the door when I'm alone. So, I'm most likely gonna pick up the phone while I peek out the window to see who's at the door.

Answer the phone first... that way, if the person at the door is a thief/kidnapper/rapist, I have someone that can call the police right away!

I'd answer my phone. No use answering the door, the person at the door can wait.
