Now days more and more couples are having children at much older ages. If you want to have a child then go ahead and start your family. It doesn't matter what other people say about it. What matters is what you feel. Being hyperglycemic or hypoglycemic should have nothing to do with your decision. If it were than that would mean that all of us should not have any children because of our genetic predisposition like cancer running in the family etc. The doctors only see you a fraction of the time, but your family knows you very well. Go with how you feel and not what anyone else thinks, because if it is meant to be then it is meant to be and that is something that no one else can judge.

No, it's not too late, but the risks for mother and child are higher, especially being pre-diabetic. I'd recommend you try to get that under control first thru diet and exercise. My wife was 40 when she gave birth, with no complications except she was a bit overweight to begin with and then put on a lot more weight in pregnancy which is a lot harder to take off when you're older than when you're in your 20's. The health problems associated with being obese are legendary, as I'm sure you're aware. You need to consider this carefully. Adopting might be a better option..

i've got heard approximately that psychological subject on the information - Nadia Suleman (Octo-mom) has an identical one. the place women human beings experience the could desire to be in consistent wedding ceremony or infant mode as a desperate choose for interest with the aid of a pair style of diet/no longer being dropped on the pinnacle - deficiency as a newborn. tell her approximately that, and which you're right here for her if she desires to paintings out those problems. Oh wait. you do no longer care. Ask her if she plans to be a "thick" bride or if she's gonna concentration on that muffin good till now the great day. possibly she'll be too depressed to communicate? sturdy luck.

First off, you are never to old to find love, and I am glad that you have found your one and only. As far as child bearing goes, about half a year ago I saw on the news a 70ish (maybe older) year old women gave birth to a chid making her the oldest women to give birth to a child.
It is not how old you are when you have a child, but how you love it, teach it, and enjoy life as a family. A child loves you for you, not your age...Don't let others get in the way of your happiness, if they truely want you to be happy, ask them to be happy for the decisions you make. That is love...
I wish the two of you the best of luck in the world!

I would start on the family before the wedding as the longer you leave it the harder it becomes. There are increased risks of fetal abnormalities but that doesn't mean every baby born to an 'older' mother will have a problem of some sort. If you and your fiance think your up for it then do it!
Go for it and congratulations!

your question is valid because after age 35, the risk of down syndrome increases. If you and your fiance can deal with the thought of even having a "special" child then go for it. If you are just going to play the odds, then good luck. But of course there are plenty of healthy babies and children already born that want you as parents.

i had my last child at 39 he is a very smart 8 year old boy
I had gestational diabetes
getting pregnant in later years does pose problems but it is done all the time
your doctor will just monitor you closely
and you will be offered a test amnotineses (probably spelled wrong)
i did not want the test done because of the risk involved
But that is totally up to you. my baby weighed more because of the gestational diabetes 10 pounds
but all went well
good luck to you
and congrats

No, you are NOT too old (although it can be harder to conceive). People's body clock differ for many reasons. Disabled and diabetic people CAN have children but make sure you get the RIGHT medical treatment and be monitored regulary. Do what is right for you and hubby, so I say go for it as well :)

No, you are not too old. I would suggest regular exercise if you aren't already.
There is a cultural bias today against older moms and clearly your family is amongst them (mine is as well).
Personally, though, I would just get married and plan to get pregnant earlier. Your wonderful wedding won't make up for infertility issues.
