first steering wheel locked and key couldnt turn freed steering wheel but key still wont turn took out barrel but key still will not turn whats wrong please?

key won't turn in barrel, even tho' it's out of car? either wrong key, lock/key damaged/worn, or dirt etc. in lock jamming it. NEVER oil a tumbler lock, use ONLY graphite powder! (this is what happens) NB many cars use different keys between the doors and the ign. take key and tumbler to locksmith, he can cut new key/fix it. Check to see he has a blank key, quote any numbers on lock or key.

how did you get barrel out if key wont turn as key needs to be on position 1 for barrel release to work?
