It is the formation of a new species from the existing species.
A new species has a certain criteria to fulfill. Although it arises from the existing species, yet it has to have a different gene pool. There must be some kind of reproductive barrier so that it does not breed with other species. It must breed with the members of its own species. The prime source of the formation of new species is mutation.
