Yes. You are right. Some people like to address problems while others choose to ignore them.

I think this country has a lot of good, yet can do even better. I was taught that anyone who is afraid to change, is afraid to grow.

how provocative and begging of the question: george that must be you!

are you sober yet? well, whatever. the short answer is HELL NO! how did you manage to let cheney and the desperados from hell screw it up so bad i am wondering. you just had to have never took any notice of what was going on. asleep at the wheel and too much chivas can do that. but you could have peeked in from time to time. you should have turned it over to willie nelson or anybody but those guys. what a mess. maybe your mama could step in for the remaining few months, you think? personally with you falling off the wagen and cheney being mad as a hatter, anybody else would be a good gamble.

maybe fellow texan, ron paul could lend a hand?

Not I.

I am a jaundiced,cynical,jaded,
realist
with a pretty low opinion of human nature,
who sees no reason to make an exception for
us,the people
of these United States. We are just as likely
to blunder and get it wrong as anybody else.
And it is a proven fact that indeed we have,
many times. It is also a proven fact that we lie about
our biggest blunders and try to pass them off as
successes. 's juss ole human nature at work.

However, there are a lot of people out there
who feel precisely the opposite,
probably an overwhelming majority,some
of whom should
know better,
while others aren't wholely to blame for their
blissful state of self-complacent ignorance.
It will always be easier to believe lies without questioning if these untruths confirm our preconceived ideas about how great we are.
's juss ole human nature.

America is great but will never perfect. We will however always strive for perfection. BTW For the Dude that responded with "America is 37th in healthcare" I have a question for you. Where do wealthy Canadians and Europeans go for urgent health care needs? They come here...

I for one, do not think so. For the most part, the people in this country are good people. But, there is an unbelievable level of corruption in the government, and it really needs to be defeated. The people must stand as one against the corruption, and take our country back from those who have corrupted all that is good about this country. *sm*

I think there's quite a few, and this is a little disturbing for the rest of the world. What I call "Blind Patriotism", does not do America any betterment.

America is great but the USA has done lots of wrong things and will continue to do them. No person or place can be perfect

the majority of individual Americans are very nice. They are kind with good manners and they are very welcoming. However, it cannot be said for their politicians, they are a different breed altogether. Greedy and corrupt they care only for power and the rewards that power brings.

Better than any other country out there but there are of course things we could do to improve it. We could seal the borders, cut taxes, strengthen the military, reduce government intrusion into personal lives and business, build more nuclear plants to become more energy independent.

America is great but we can always improve, that is what makes us great.
