About a year ago, my husbands grandmother passed away, and left him some money. We have been married for over 5 years, but we can't stand each other. He threatens me every time I say I want out. he tells me I am only entitled to 10%.

I suppose it depends on where you live...but generally an inheritance is NOT community property. The only way you would get any of that money is if your husband co-mingled the funds. In other words put the money in an account or an investment that has your name on it. If he did that you get a share..

At first glance, your question goes straight towards granny's inheritance she left her grandson. Money creates ugliness in people's attitudes. What Granny left to her grandson should remain his - not yours. IF you have contributed in any financial way within your marriage, then you may be entitled to half of all assets. If you can't stand each other, why are you still together? You don't say whether you are employed. Try not to break the poor man's back. Get counseling.

It depends on your Husband. It depends how much he is worth.

Reading your question details it is obvious that YOU DO NOT WORTH MUCH, so YOUR HUSBAND GOT TO BE THE SAME TOO right!

So, Chances are you will reside in 2 Bedroom apartment! or May be One bedroom!

If you have contributed so much during your life together, then do it some more!!! and live that man alone! get a life or something!!!

It depends on the state you are in, who has the better lawyer, and how sympathetic the judge is.

Look at it this way, is that extra 40% worth more than your well being, safety and happiness?

do you have any children? I think it may depend on what state you are in. If you are not happy you should leave. Money is not everything happiness is more important.
