Cheap options= ATI HD 2400 Pro or XT
Better= ATI HD 2600XT or Geforce 8600GT

Best bang for your buck=8800GT or ATI HD3870. These cards may require a power supply upgrade. Overclocking your E4500 to 2.6gHZ or higher may also help reduce the processor bottleneck because these cards are really fast.

I think there is a problem with ur display adapter of motherboard, Try setting different refresh rate and try....

If this did not work, I prefer u to buy 8600GT, If ur price conscious then go for 7200GT......

But ur p.s.u should be at least 550W in order to bare this graphics cards....

your video card could be playing a part but it also might be your codecs, its always worth downloading videolan http://www.videolan.org/ i always find this to play pretty much all divx and xvid movies

good luck
