yeah i'd like to get a reloadable mastercard because i am only 16 and can't have a real credit card but there are some things that i would like to purchase online and can't because of not having a credit card. so my question is:

does anyone know for sure if i can use a re-loadable mastercard to make ONLINE purchases?

i'm not talking about the MUCH card. i mean like the one you can just buy at the store, it comes in a little flimsy cardboard case thingy and there is like a $4 and something cent activation fee, where as the MUCH card fee is like almost $30. if i have to pay $30 because the re-loadable mastercard doesn't work online then i will.... but it's faster to get the re-loadable card because it's right in the store where as i have to apply online for the MUCH card and wait weeks.

the mastercard is pretty much instant - and cheaper. :P

so if anyone could share their knowledge with me that would be cool. oh yeah i live in ontario canada in case that makes any difference. thnx..

my parents REFUSE to get me a credit card and / or purchase something FOR me online even if i insist on paying them back or just giving them the cash right there and they use the card. so this is not an option, if it was i wouldn't bother with asking such a dumb question. it's a waist of 5 points.. :P well right now to me it's not but... yeah. :)

Normally you have to be 18 to have a reloadable card in your name. However you parents can purchase one for your use. They are actually a good financial tool because you can only spend what is loaded onto the card without the ridiculously high interest. Various cards will charge you a fee for loading a card.
Check out Net Spend prepaid Visas and Master Cards. The cards are normally only a one time of 9.95 plus the amount of the the first load, with only a 2 dollar per load fee afterwards. You get a real card that you can use to buy stuff online, pay bills, rent a car and so forth. I have one and I was able to purchase plane tickets online and pay bills. Good Luck.

Why don't you have your parents give you a real credit card? See if you can do that. don't waste money on stupid fees.
