mosquitoes live for a few days. in monsoon you must have seen black ants with wings which always go near white light .they live for less than 24 hours

as far as insects go it depends on are you talking about just the adult stage or just the whole life cycle...most insects have an annual life cycle, egg, larva,pupa & adult. Mayflies are a year in age when they emerge as an adult, but only live another 24 hours. Some periodical cicadas live in the larval stage up to 17 years but once they emerge as an adult, only have a few weeks to live. Flies left alone will live up to a month as an adult plus the time spent in the larval stage. Some butterflies, such as monarchs will fly south to Mexico to spend the winter then fly by up to the U.S. next Spring.

Aphids are probably one of the shorter life spans from birth to dieing of old age, under 2 weeks

Adult mayflies live very brief lives, just long enough to mate and (if female) lay eggs. That's how the order got the name "Ephemerida". [It was later changed to "Ephemeroptera" by people who didn't know or didn't care that it meant "wings that last only one day.]
