Actually, several months ago a young girl on Y!A asked a question about this. She wished to CHANGE her voice. Among the half-billion things I've done in life is study vocal technique and then teach it. So I wrote her a fairly detailed answer for some basic techniques to practice, and recommended a book by my old teacher. I got the MOST grateful letter from her - she had aleady begun the exercises and ordered the book. Man, that was so cool.
It's somewhere back there in my old answers if you want to avoid prison time for killing the person with the horrid voice.

one of my daughters friends (they are both 26) has a very high little voice and when my daughter is on the phone with this friend i can hear her squeaky little voice loud and clear..i bust a gut laughing every time!!! i've never thought about punching her, its more like i try to keep from laughing cause its really the funniest thing...well, ,you'd have to hear it i guess, it loses its effect in translation.

I went to school once with a girl who had some disorder with her voice and she sounded just like minnie mouse. i felt bad for her cause she was a really beautiful girl with a very annoying high pitched voice.

A photo would have helped but I personally much prefer smallish women and as to your voice there should be elocution classes available in any reasonably sized college. Good luck.

OH GOD. Yes I do. I don't know how I keep from punching her. But she is nice, especially when I hold my ears when she starts talking loud!!
