I have to get surgery in two weeks because i have 2 holes in my skull and they need to put a metal plate to cover them. and they said they are going to shave a 1" by like 6" section so they can make a "s" like incision so once the hair grows back you wont be able to tell. or i can not have it shaved and then they have to cut a straight line, so i will have a permanent part in my hair there. but its on the top of my head so i think my hair will just fall over it and you will only see the part if i cut my hair short.

You need to do what you decide, but if it was me I would shave your whole head.

My husband shaves his head all of the time and I like it.

My doctor, also shaves his head too and he looks very good.

My husband was balding and now with his head shaved, you would never know he was bald.

A lot of the NBA players also shave their head and look very good.

It also saves a bundle of money. Hubby shaves his own head, in a matter of minutes. He goes out side to shave his head.

Depends at the individual. I believe a few men with shaved heads are scorching, however so much women appear like CRAP with shaved heads. Its an issue of alternative. If you're going bald, you would wanna shave all of it! LOL.

I think you should have it shaved because I dont think you would want to have a incision line where you hair use to be. I believe you would want your hair to looked the way it did before the surgery. People who know you will notice the incision if you choose not to shave, I don't think you would want to always attract attention to that spot everytime you talk to someone.

Absolutely! It's always been a question in my mind as to why the entire head isn't shaved during procedures such as this. The patients that I come into contact with on a daily basis are usually emergent situations and don't have the option; they wind up with half-shaved heads or circles shaved out of their heads...poor things!
Go for it! You will learn to style your hair to compensate for it after it all grows back. It will be stronger, thicker and better than ever!
Good luck with your procedure, hon...you're in my prayers.

I would pick the one that is shaped like an s so that you might be able to pass it off. You could make up a story to people why you have an s on the back of your head. Plus it will grow back so either way I think it is better than a straight line. It has more meaning( so you can say).

That's a hard decision but I would love to have an excuse to shave my head. It would be a pain growing it all out though.

I would shave it--I know it would suck, but in the long run you will definitely be happier not to mention, the best part about hair is that it will grow back--wear hats!

Shave your head, it will grow back! It will be more comfortable during the healing process and less likely to become infected.
