Hello hon no your request is quite normal, sometimes when people retire they feel like ok I have retired and I am just going to relax and do nothing worked the better part of my life and now I am free to do nothing. So that is where communication come in. They have to be reminded that I still work and it is not fair honey for me to carry the same load as before I want you to enjoy your retirement as i will enjoy mine someday. But until I do do you fill its unfair to ask you for a little more help ? with etc, etc, etc, some of the things you want him to do or have done when you get home from work if he has not done them try letting them go for a couple of days and see if he gets the message. Good Luck and Happy New to the both of you. :)

Of course it's understandable that you would assume he'd do more at home now. But just because you EXPECT it, doesn't mean it's gonna happen. He probably figures if he's gonna work all day, why be retired. Sit down with him and negotiate something that will fit in with his expectations as well. And if it doesn't all get done, it will still be there tomorrow.

No it's not wrong, after all he's home all day, he should why not? He's retired from work, a job not house work, before he retired I'm sure you worked and came home and did house work as well. right?...

No it isn't, if he isn't doing anything else during the day other then sitting at home. He should help out more. It wouldn't even be to much to ask for him to cook dinner from time to time also. And running the vacuum and doing some laundry, and sweeping and thing like that aren't going to kill him.

No. If you are working and he is not than there is no reason why he can't do more around the house. Someone has to do it and if he is there all day then it should be him.

No it is perfectly reasonable, but if you have both been working prior to this and he didn't help around the house, don't expect to teach that old dog new tricks.

Why wouldn't he?!
I mean if you stayed home there'd be no question that you would.
This isn't the 40's anymore, goodness lol

"Expect ", is the key and your word. Just what would you expect him to do around the house. Just asking.
