Mine are close to 80 and not really doing too well. It's very difficult when you know you only have so many years left, and you know your health is declining.
My dad was misfortunate enough to get West Nile this Fall too. It nearly killed him. But he made it through almost miraculously too. It's sad watching their health decline and being caught in the sandwich generation (kids and parents to take care of).
Seems your own life quickly slips by too, so don't waste it.

My mom's doing fine. My dad, I have no idea, though I suspect not that well. He's not around, long story, mainly that he's a long-time alchoholic who doesn't have the decency to stop lying and breaking promises/hearts.

Dad passed in '69, Mom in '91.
I sure they're doing wonderfully.
