I met this guy out dancing with my friends, and gave him my number when he asked for it. But he would call ALL the TIME, and then either ramble on about stupid things, or worse, just sit there and watch TV and ask me why I was so quiet! It was ridiculous. But I'm a sucker when it comes to hurting people's feelings, so I would come up with excuses to get off the phone, not take his calls, get out of conversations with him at parties, etc. He just creeped me out. (Not at first or I wouldn't have given him my number!)
He was so persistent! I eventually changed my # so I wouldn't have to deal with his calls anymore. He weirded me out somethin' awful. I didn't realize how determined he was, though.
Turned out my instincts were right; just a little late in warning me. He ended up stalking me for two years, made me an absolute wreck, caused terrible nightmares that still haven't completely disappeared, etc. I just wish I'd never given him my number in the first place...
But yeah. Much as I hate dishonesty, sometimes it's called for.

yeah with my ex girlfriend. I don't know why she calls when she know that I'm trying to get over her but I just fake that I was going out with this girl so I have to leave and when she said who and what girl. I told her is none of your business and than I hang up. I felt sorry for hanging up on her but I will that's what she get for d dumping me. well later on she came to my house and told me that will like to know this girl and when did I started seeing her. so I just told her to leave and I got in my car and left. sorry baby. I wasn't my family. I'm not a cloth in your closet that you like to wear day after day. I'm a human being like everyone else. how about you. I want to know if you ever lie on the phone with someone.

Yup. lol I did that yesterday to some guy I just met and we're just talking...well actually not anymore. I decided he's not my type mid-way through our conversation, so I said "Oh my best friends finally returning my call! Mind if I take it?" I said I would call back but no....

yes
you say you`ll call them back later.
which, depending on the person, may be the next day or the next month. :)
or you say .. [if home phone] .. my dad or sister is waiting for an important phone call.
or.. your cell.. my battery's dying.
meh
