In a modern lab doing quantitative analysis, the potassium would be measured by ICP Spectrophotometry ad the sulfate by Ion Chromatography. Note, you do not measure them together. For example if you had a mix of potassium sulfate and sodium sulfate, the sulfate result would be the total. It is much more difficult to separate the species out without specialized testing.

evaluate this, If potassium nitrate sounds like this KNO3 and potassium sulfate sounds like this K2SO4 Do you think of those are the comparable element or do they encompass diverse chemical factors???
