Im using a LCD tv as my new computer monitor and i cant get it past 800 by 600 resolution even after updating my graphics card and rolling it back and reinstalling the drivers

Hi. Check the maximum resolution that monitor supports. No matter how powerful the GPU the limit will be set by your monitor.

what do you mean by updating? did you get a new better card? or did you update the drivers?

if you updated the drivers that wont augment the card and give it better capabilities. you will need to actually get a better card.

if you did get a new card, do you mean the windows resolution? or some other game or softwares resolution? for windows the problem might be that you are using some default driver or the wrong one, try reinstalling the driver from a cd or the manufacturers website.

if youre using vista, alot of video cards do not have drivers that are supported in windows vista and will not work correctly, consult the manual or manufacturers website.

if you mean some games or programs resolution, well each have their own limits, and configurations, it might not reach higher resolutions due to insufficient specs on your side (too little memory, too slow a cpu)

maybe ur moniter if it is older.
