I say go for it... Cuz lol pisses me off after a while so i say "haha" oinstead or lmao... kinda thing. For BRB just say Ill be back... Not too hard. I think messaging lingo is kinda gay anyway to some extent... try my suggestion out and see if you like it!!! ;PP

For online I suppose it is a convenience so for some people it probably wont ever die..

But in real conversation its already really old... I remember people saying 'jk' far too much back as a kid and now if you say something like that you just end up with the death stare from most people haha...

In my opinion it will always be more intelligent to talk in complete sentences.

But lol has now evolved to lmao (laughing my a** off) which is now very common

Yep. Sometimes my friends will sound out "lol" online and say "lole" or "lawl." Or incorporate it into words. Like "lawlipop" or "lawlacaust." Like Holocaust. Stupid, but we all refuse to say "lol."
