Hi. They work well but will still be in mono. Look for a noise canceling mike. Pretty inexpensive.

If you are using Windoes Vista, the mic mixer has been deleted and you now have to buy a separate app to get it back. Some mfrs like Dell can bring it back by modifying the Registry. There is a fix for it on their website.
Go to the computer Mfrs website and get help from there. Usually you can email them and get an answser
If you running XP, then it might be that the mic is set to "Muted". Double click on the little speaker icon at the bottom and remove any checkmarks.

yes, you can see it for mono or stereo
