I mean the best individual team, not the best overall francise. Comparing the 2007 Patriots to all other NFL teams, are they the best ever?

To hear Bill Parcells tell it, they are, but I would like to try and be more objective then an ESPN anaylis hyping the current team.
Best teams ever (not in order)
'85 Bears - The Monsters of the Midway were a pretty impressive team, Sweetness, McMahon, The Fridge, and they had a great video.
'72 Dolphins - Going undefeated ranks you in the upper teir.
'79 Steelers - Any team with nine Hall of Famer's...
'92 Cowboys - The triplets of Aikmen, Emmitt, and Irvin
'89 49ers - Great pass rush and Montana to Rice
'62 Packers - Could run on anyone
'99 Rams - The greatest show on turf
'86 Giants - Great D with a sound running game
'98 Broncos - Elways last hurrah
'90 Bills - Came with in about 2 feet or 10 more seconds of being considered one of the unqestionably best teams ever. Noone could stop the K-gun offence.
'07 Patriots - I think the Patriots get more credit than they deserve because they get to play in the AFC L(east) so they were given 6 victories in their division. But they did beat the Cowboys and the Colts this year.
One of the things that the Pats have going for them, is that it's hard to get pressure on Brady. 'Da Bears could and would put him on the ground quite a few times. I give the moniker of best ever to the '85 Bears.

Keep in mind it is a FACT THAT THEY WERE FOUND GUILTY OF CHEATING!!!
So if cheaters are allowed to be involved in a poll for the best ever, then MAYBE, but I think the '85 Bears would have owned Brady... just like they owned the Pats in the Superbowl. The Niners in the 80's? Riggin's Redskins? Emmit, Irvin, Aikman? The Steel Curtain? Hell... LT sacking Brady like 50 times if the Giants from that era played them? The Pats might be the greatest, but I highly doubt it.
They do have the greatest bandwagon ever though. Friggin' Pats fans falling out of the woodwork, and 10 years ago you couldn't find even one.
EDIT: Furthermore, you don't become the best by playing the Bills, Jets and Dolphins twice in a season, and getting some games handed to you by the refs.

No the pats arnt the best team ever there was a-lot of older teams the rocked out loud but for the 07'-08' season yea they're the best team now!

I highly doubt it.
I believe the Steelers of the 70's had the BEST team ever
during a 9 game stretch in '76, they gave up only 28 points.....they also had 4 superbowls and could've easily had a 5th during the 70's

No way are the Patriots the best team ever. They are good in spurts, but they have their ups and downs and have been very lucky this year on several occasions. Look for their luck to run out Sunday with a Patriots loss. You heard it here first folks...

For now, the Patroits is the best NFL team ever. But in the past, there are several teams were the best... Cowboys, Raiders, Steelers, 49ers, and Colts.

Well Id bet that KC could be a contender playing that sheot division. The JETS? BUFFALO? MIAMI? thats six wins for 99% of the rest of the leasgue. Pats are great but wont win the SB
