I recently watched a film titled "Sicko" that was directed by Michael Moore on health insurance. In the film is exposed the difficulty of obtaining health insurance and presented a long list of pre-concieved illneses one could have that would make it extrememly difficult to get health insurance. In my childhood, I had a minor bout of tourettes syndrom that quickly went away after a couple of years, but my record of this may still be in some hospital file. Should this little snag be any concern to me?

I would say no. Don't even mention it.

I saw "Sicko" too. It was good, except there was a little exaggeration going on.

You should have no trouble getting health insurance. They only keep records for 7 years. Tourettes Syndrome? What Tourettes Syndrome? ;)

Life and General Insurance is distinct. GI organizations present Health Insurance whic is most of the time is aware of as mediclaim coverage. Apollo Munich presents HI that's useful to realise and one with none sublimits. Have a first-class day!

If you are talking group insurance that you get through your employer, no. If you are applying for individual health insurance, you will need to paint as rosy a picture for them as possible in order to qualify.

In spite of the perception people have about insurance companies, they don't go snooping through doctor and hospital files to find your medical history. They access your medical history through Medical Information Bureau, anything recorded by past insurers - and WHAT YOU TELL THEM. Please see this page on my site: http://www.health-insurance-low-cost.net/Medical-History.htm.

What happened in your childhood will not show up on your MIB report, if you were covered with group health by your parents. Since you require no treatment for it now, you don't need to mention it. It's irrelevant to the insurance company.

The only way to know is to apply. But if you get health insurance through an employer, they can't deny you. It's only if you get a private policy that you have to worry about that stuff.
