hello i recently purchased a AGP HIS Radeon 9250 video card. i have a compaq presario s3000nx and intergrated s3graphics i put the agp card in and attatched the vga cord to it but the monitor remains in standby. it doesnt make an attempt to turn on when i click the power button. i have tested it on 2 monitors and used 2 vga cords to test if it was a cord problem. i have a phoenix award bios version 6. is there somthing that i have to do in the bios or something else that i dont know about?

my power supply is 250 watts
i have a fic am35 motherboard
amd athlon 2000+

You may just have installed a new card on an old and dirty slot. Try reseating the card but clean the slot first with a small paint brush.
Even without its own driver, the card should be able to display POST then boot at low resolution.

Hey, you need to go into BIOS and set the monitor from onboard to AGP . Hook up the monitor to the onboard video to do it then put it on your new card.

wait one minute, do you have a radeon 9250 or an athlon 2000+

Did you drop the cd disk in? (In the instructions, it gives you more info, like when to put the disk in,(drivers, ATI User Panel), and when to install the card.
